Discussion:
Art is a problem for those in the Equity religion because part of the doctrine of the faith is that there is no such thing as universals: no objectively true science, biological reality or common humanity. According to Equity, the only thing that is real is the reality of groups and the power and oppression that flows from them.
Most people believe that art should be seen as something we all celebrate, not something that needs to be eliminated.
From the perspective of the Equity believers, art has the nasty habit of drawing our attention to universal standards and themes. It portrays mercy, growth, sin, compassion, evil, symmetry, beauty and love. People must not be allowed to believe in universal truths or they will stop believing in Equity, and that is why art must be defaced and destroyed.
The only small place that art is allowed is when it is portraying the Equity belief system through works of propaganda. A dark world awaits us all if the Equity believers are able to grab the paint brushes, pens and chisels and determine how they can be used.
