Common meaning:
Not judging others based on the color of their skin.
Hidden meaning of the Equity religion:
Oppressing people of color by denying the relevance of race.
Discussion:
Equity believers think that people of color are oppressed when they are not viewed only through the lens of skin pigmentation.
Throughout history, whenever men and women gathered together in tribes to produce food and provide defense for the group, problems would develop. It became quickly apparent that the jealousy and envy that finds its home in the depths of each human could quickly tear the group apart. To prevent this, all civilizations utilized the tool of socialization and common beliefs to mitigate this destructive tendency. This has occurred in every tribe, nation or civilization that has ever existed, including the Western one.
Equity gets this completely backwards. Taking its cue from Rousseau, it promotes the false belief that it is society itself that is the source for human conflict and violence; that without the structures of society we would cooperate together peacefully.
The Western value of viewing other people as part of a greater humanity and being colorblind when it comes to race, is a very good thing. The disaster that ensues when we begin to focus on differences cannot be understated. The human heart can be a dark thing and those who ignore this fact are in for a rude shock.
