Silencing and harming the marginalized by removing their ability to speak.

Discussion:

The Equityists claim that the dominant majority have created a system that continuously silences the marginalized and prevents them from speaking. This refusal to listen to knowledge coming from the oppressed is epistemic violence. 

The religion of Equity refuses to believe knowledge can be objective. It doesn’t think you can separate knowledge from the groups that create the knowledge. If a group is oppressive, it means the knowledge they generate is also oppressive, and is silencing the marginalized. They believe that we need to get rid of this oppressive knowledge and only listen to the knowledge generated by marginalized groups.

It is important to understand that Equity believers really do think that people who declare things that are objectively true are participating in violence towards the marginalized. Clearly, this kind of thinking is not based on a reasonable and logical reality, but comes from a radical religious belief system.

When religious intolerance has declared that words have become violence, we are in trouble.
