From the Equity perspective, the fixation by the white culture on evidence is all part of systemic oppression. Evidence proposed by the dominant race is invalid, as only evidence from the minoritized is acceptable.

Choosing to determine the validity of evidence based on who says it, instead of comparing it to objective reality, is awful. This is racism, no matter how much the religious Equityists pretend that it is not.

According to Equity, looking at evidence or scientific facts does not help you know what is true. Using the scientific method to try and discover things doesn’t work because it’s so tainted with the white oppressive way of thinking. Since the only thing we know for sure is that oppression has taken place, the only evidence that we will consider valid or truthful is evidence that supports the very fact of the oppression. Any evidence that indicates that oppression has not happened can be dismissed, because we already know what’s true.

Using evidence to discover truth belongs to us all as humans, not just one culture or race.
