A mechanism that is imposed to exploit the vulnerable.

Discussion:

A believer in Equity doctrine thinks that all hierarchies are created by the powerful in order for them to exploit the vulnerable. 

Equity sees hierarchies as being totally socially constructed instead of being connected to both social and biological systems. Believers think that they are primarily utilized by the powerful to harm and exploit the vulnerable and that they need to be eliminated.

Since, from the Equity perspective, hierarchies are only socially constructed, all we need to do is change how people in a society think and that will fix the problem. Hierarchies can be eliminated because they don’t have any underlying biological reality. 

Back in the real world, hierarchies have an underlying biological foundation. We, like many other animals, use them to determine the status of other members of a group and where we fit in. In most cases, hierarchies provide more benefits than they create issues. 

The Equityists are wrong. Hierarchies can be annoying but are good for us.
