Honest History

Common meaning:

Presenting the past as truthfully as possible.

Hidden meaning of the Equity religion:

The act of revising history and altering facts to match the beliefs of Equity.

Discussion:

The Equity faithful believe that they have discovered the fundamental truth about the world. They know, by faith, that dominant groups have been oppressing the minoritized groups, so telling a story that matches this is honest history.

Equity believers already know what has happened in the past, but sometimes there is a problem. They look for evidence to support their religious beliefs and only find evidence that tells a different story. The solution to the problem is just to ignore any pesky facts and revise history to match Equity.

From the Equity perspective, fudging facts is not lying because their faith tells them what must be true. This means a made up history with no facts, or altered facts that match Equity beliefs, is more true than a recorded history with well-documented facts that do not match the Equity story.

A perfect example of this kind of historical revisionism can be seen in the 1619 project.
