The Equityists believe that humour needs to be banned because it promotes violence towards minorities and damages them.

Typically, Equity believers get triggered when people are making fun of the ludicrous and illogical religion of Equity. Despite what the Equityists think, jokes about a minority group are never violent because in the real world, words cannot create physical violence. 

You can identify how totalitarian a regime or religion has become by how it reacts to humor. In the Soviet Union, under Stalin, a single joke about the party or Stalin could result in a harsh prison term in Siberia from which you were unlikely to return. Today, the Equityist religious mob attacks anyone who dares to joke about the Equity religion and many have lost their jobs for tweeting a single joke. 

The reason humor is so dangerous to this new faith is because it can easily highlight the absurdity of religious Equity.
