Marginalization

Common meaning:

To make a person or a group less important in society by preventing them access to power.

Hidden meaning of the Equity religion:

Needs to be reversed by silencing people who are members of dominant groups.

Discussion:

The Equityists believe that people in marginalized groups have been under such a weight of oppression that they need a time to heal. For this to happen they need spaces where dominant people are not present and dominant narratives are not spoken. This means that in order to reverse the marginalization of the past, we need to marginalize and silence people who are members of dominant groups today.

In reality, the way to fight against marginalization is not with more marginalization but by including everyone. The Equityists will say they want inclusivity, but their actions of marginalization and exclusion tell a different story.

The Equity religion weaponizes the idea that past and current oppression is an excuse to silence anyone from the dominant group who dares to speak. Basically it promotes the idea that two wrongs make a right.

We either all have a right to speak or none of us do.
