Oppression

Common meaning:

Cruel and unjust treatment of people over a prolonged period of time.

Hidden meaning of the Equity religion:

Not a willful act but a result of Western thinking that harms the minoritized.

Discussion:

According to Equity, each dominant group generates oppression against particular minority groups. All of this oppression can be placed under the umbrella of Western hegemony. It is not specific wilful acts that are the problem but simply the existence of the western way of thinking.

Religions like Christianity call it sin when people from one group are treating people from another group unjustly, but unlike Equity, they call individuals to account. It is individuals who need to repent for their own actions and make things right. People are not held responsible for the actions of others, only for their own.

Equity is illogical when it holds people responsible for things they never did and when it considers all members in a group guilty for anything other members are now doing or have ever done. It is off its rocker when it says that the entire purpose and goal of Western society is to oppress others.

Oppression can exist, but the West is not a system of oppression.
