Discussion:

Equity believers think that if anyone from a dominant group says anything about someone from a minoritized group, they are attacking them. What they say is always considered abusive.

If a member of a dominant group says minoritized people need to work harder to meet the same standards as everyone else, they are abusing the oppressed. The Equityists will say that the minoritized have a burden of suffering the dominant people know nothing about which affects them drastically. Expecting them to meet the same standard is phobic and wrong.

If a member of a dominant group says minoritized people need to be given a break and should not have to meet the same standards as everyone else, they are abusing the oppressed. The Equityists will say that the minoritized are just as intelligent as members of every other group and saying they are not shows dominant thinking. All the minoritized want is an equitable chance, and saying they can meet a lesser standard is offensive because they are just as capable as everyone else.
