Common meaning:
Making fun of people who are more powerful.
Hidden meaning of the Equity religion:
Victims in the minoritized groups defending themselves against the domination of the powerful.
Discussion:
Equity believers think that whenever someone from a minoritized group talks about someone from the dominant group, they are simply defending themselves. Whatever they say, no matter how vile, is not abusive. They are simply speaking truth to power.
You would think that if a member of a minoritized group says a person from a dominant group is homophobic, sexist, eurocentric, male, fatphobic, cisgendered, ableist, islamophobic, anti-black, transphobic and white supremacist, they would need at least some evidence for all these accusations. The Equityists disagree that evidence is necessary and say the guilt of participating in all of these activities can be assumed, simply because the person is a member of a dominant group.
When members of minoritized groups say vile things to people in dominant groups or destroy their property, the Equityists claim these people are not being evil. They are defending themselves against the dominant power structures that have kept their people down for so long.
Giving people the power to lash out at others without any consequences is not a good thing.
