Common meaning:
When an individual thinks about their life and choices they have made.
Hidden meaning of the Equity religion:
When an individual thinks about the sinful acts other people in their group have done.
Discussion:
According to Equity doctrine, self-reflection is not for members of an oppressed group because they already have the truth. Instead, it is mandatory for everyone in the oppressor groups to think about the sinful acts other people in their group have done.
Many religions, like Christianity, provide opportunities for you to reflect on your actions and any sins you may have committed against others. In Chapter 5 of Matthew, Jesus says even if you are in the act of giving an offering and you remember someone has something against you then you need to leave at once and reconcile with them.
Christianity says you are responsible for your own acts, but Equity says you are also responsible for the acts of other group members. Christianity says there is a time to reflect on your own sins, but Equity says you must also reflect on the sins of your groups. Christianity grants forgiveness, but Equity says you can never be forgiven and there will be no reconciliation.
Equity is a religion of unforgiveness.
