Common meaning:
Everyone deserves equal rights and opportunities.
Hidden meaning of the Equity religion:
Individuals in traditionally marginalized groups deserve greater rights and more opportunities than individuals who are members of dominant groups.
Discussion:
The Equityists think people from traditionally marginalized groups deserve more than people who are members of dominant groups because of what the group has suffered. To make up for the past, members of the minoritized group deserve greater rights and opportunities.
The question could be asked, “Will the minority give up their special rights when equality between groups has been achieved?” and the answer from history indicates that this will not happen.
It is clear that the ultimate aim of Equity is the complete destruction of Western institutions, which it believes are infused with oppressive power. In a first step toward this, it promotes the idea of retribution for past injustices that have been committed toward minoritized groups.
Social justice for only some is actually injustice. What we really need is human justice for all.
