About the Encylopedia

Thirty years ago when I was working toward my Bachelor of Education degree, I noticed a couple of faculty members teaching a strange doctrine about oppression that seemed religious in nature. Twenty years ago when I started helping university faculty teach more effectively I could see that some courses were promoting this religion of grievance. Ten years ago, entire departments at the university had converted to this religion. Five years ago the religion began to proselytize the science departments and now it has been released into the rest of society.

This new religion has many names like postmodernism, intersectionality, social justice and woke, but I will always refer to it in this encyclopedia as the religion of Equity. To be clear I am not talking about traditional or liberal equity which is a very very good thing and aims to make things equal for everyone and promotes truth. Religious Equity is not interested in truth, but hides its evil intentions under the cloak of false equality. Its followers seek to gain power by promoting subjective victimization.

Once I started to realize that something was seriously wrong I began to evaluate many hundreds of hours of videos, books and articles to try and understand this new religion and identify where it came from. Getting a clear picture was difficult because Equity believers have modified the meaning of many existing words and created new ones in an effort to hide their religious program of indoctrination.

In its most basic form a religion is based on some kind of story that people believe regarding how the world was created and the way in which it functions. Although Equity does not have identifiable supernatural beings at its core, it certainly qualifies as a religion because it is a worldview that must be accepted by faith.

About 250 years ago the foundation of the religion of Equity was created, in my opinion, in France by Jean-Jacques Rousseau (1712-1778). He promoted a narrative of a perfected world that was free from oppression and Western technology. Although elements of this religion can be found as far back as the writings of Plato, no one presented the case for this new religion as clearly as Rousseau. His role was similar to that of the Apostle Paul in Christianity as he defined all of the major elements of the new religion.

Like Paul, the writings of Rousseau were studied carefully by his religious followers and some minor additions were made. Over time, various leaders came along who emphasized different aspects of the faith but the core beliefs, handed down by Rousseau, remained.

This religion has always hated Liberalism and in some ways can be considered as a reaction against it. The religion despises the liberal ideas such as: each of us is valuable as an individual; that we should be treated equally; we should aim to maximize human freedom; and that we should treat each other with dignity. The Western world we have today has been built on these fundamental liberal principles and the new religion of Rousseau wanted to destroy them. Its goal is to ignore all objective truth, except for the truth of power; ignore everything about individuals and focus exclusively on groups. There is no you or me, only groups interacting with groups.

The new Equity religion did not attract those who believed in Liberalism, including moderate conservatives, centrists and classical liberals. Where the religion did find traction was on the far ends of the political divide on both the radical right and radical left.

On the far right it eventually found a home in various fascist or politically right-leaning countries including Nazi Germany. Rousseau believed that what mattered was the equality within a particular group or state. Those who did not meet the qualifications for membership were not permitted to stay. The Nazi’s defined the oppressed group as ethnically pure Germans and all outsiders were considered oppressors and this included the Jews. Membership in the victim group (pure Aryan Germans) was based on race. The religion provided the justification for removing the oppressors that had a different ethinic origin even if they had been citizens of the country for generations.

On the far left the religion found converts with the radical socialists and communists. This variant of the religion said the oppressors were the capitalists and the victims were the workers. It said that this time of unfairness would end and a new world of prosperous equality would take its place when the oppressed workers were put in charge.

As bad as the Equity religion has been when it infected the political right it has been far worse on the political left. The communist version of the religion based on class membership has sent significantly more non-believers to their deaths than governments that followed the political right version of the religion.

Keep in mind that this is not a political issue of right versus left. It is actually a religious issue of individual versus group. It just so happens that ideologies on the far left mesh better with this religion than those on the far right and this makes these variants more dangerous.

The right leaning version of the Equity religion was defeated in the second world war and the left variant attempted to take over the world. This was the reason for the communist push into a number of countries after the second world war.

The problem the left variant of the religion had was that capitalist liberal countries prospered while countries that followed the religion fell into despotism and became poorer. When it became clear to Equity believers that a capitalist liberal system made all of the citizens of a country better off, they knew they had to change tactics.

Giving up their religion was a non-starter, so they just moved the goalposts. Now it was relative wealth that was the problem and the focus was on how much more the rich had compared to the poor, conveniently forgetting how much better off everyone was.

The Equity religion was eventually brought into the universities and modified from just being about wealth to including any relative disparities in society. After some experimentation, it was found that focusing on the idea of social justice was the best way to make converts.

Today, believers in the Equity religion still follow Rousseau’s thinking that Western civilization is bad and needs to be destroyed; that modern science is a problem and that technology should be eliminated; that nothing good has come from progress and that we are all slaves.

Unfortunately the newest variant of the Equity religion, is the most contagious and dangerous version we have ever seen. Equity believers have attempted and in large part have succeeded in taking over Western nations by infiltrating various institutions like the News Media, Entertainment, Churches, Education and Law.

I have written this encyclopedia in order to help you understand the new meanings the Equity followers have applied to existing words and what the new words they have invented mean. Although the majority of Equity followers would hesitate to put things as bluntly as I have, they demonstrate what they actually mean by their actions of violence and hate.

When an Equity believer says, “Social justice requires all of us to aim for equitable outcomes,” they mean, “We plan to rob the people we hate and give everything to those we love.”

When the Equity faithful say, “All workplaces need to value diversity,” they mean, “We plan to fire all people who are not part of an approved group.”

When a believer says, “Critical race theory needs to be taught in schools so all stories are heard,” they mean, “We plan to indoctrinate children in tribalism so they can be racist.”

When an Equityist says, “Transgender people must be accepted and valued,” they mean, “We plan to exterminate normal gendered people.”

It is hard to believe that behind the curtain of Equity lurks these terrible things but it is true. This is why the Equity believers need to hide what they are saying behind seemingly innocent words.

If you don’t know the secret language of Equity you won’t be able to stand against this new religion that promotes hate and envy. This encyclopedia will help you recognize what Equity believers are actually saying and help prepare you to fight back with mercy, love and truth.

I hope you find what I have written in this encyclopedia helpful.

Note for a deeper dive into what some of the terms mean I would highly recommend the New Discourses website created by James Lindsy (https://newdiscourses.com/translations-from-the-wokish/).
